Spiral Classifier
Description
The spiral classifier is used widely in mineral processing. Forming the close circuit with grinding mills, it’s applied for pre-grading and grading operations, as well as fine materials desliming and dehydration. This machine, using the principles of difference in granularity and gravity of solids and resulting thus in different sedimentation velocity, is a mechanical classification equipment. The spiral classifier manufactured by Y.H. Heavy has advantages of simple structure, reliable work and convenient operation.
Trough length ：≤3000-14300mm
Screw diameter：300-3000mm
Composition: the classifier is composed mainly by transmission part, screw, trough, lift mechanism, base (bearing bush) and discharge valve.
Applications: the classifier is mainly used for pre-grading and grading in mineral processing and sand grinding circuit as well as desliming and dehydration in sand washing operations.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
Working principles
The spiral classifier, using the principles of difference in granularity and gravity of solids resulting therefore in different sedimentation velocity, is a mechanical classification equipment which operates to make the fine particles floating on the water or out-flowing, and coarse ones settled on the bottom of the trough, and then the fine ones are pushed and discharged out finally by screw. The classifier can filter the powered materials from the mill, then discharge out the filtered fine materials by overflow pipes, and coarse materials are entered in the mill by spiral blades. The base is welded by U-steel, and the frame by steel plates. As the pig iron sleeve is very durable, it’s used for fabricating the head and spindle nose of screw axis. Electrical and manual lift mechanisms are available.
